The General Body of the Tamil Nadu Prisoners Welfare Council (TNPWC) is the broad-based membership forum of the organisation, consisting of annual members who renew their membership yearly and life members who hold membership for life. Its members are drawn from across Tamil Nadu, representing diverse regions and communities, ensuring inclusivity and broad participation in the council’s activities.
The General Body meets annually to review the council’s work, approve major programmes, and provide collective guidance on policy matters. While it does not exercise day-to-day executive powers, it helps ensure that TNPWC’s initiatives in prisoner welfare, rehabilitation, and reintegration are inclusive, transparent, and socially responsible.
