Working closely with the Tamil Nadu Prison Department, the University of Madras (Faculties of Psychology, Criminology, and Social Work), and various corporate bodies, TNPWC acts as a vital bridge for the implementation of welfare schemes, reintegration programmes, counselling initiatives, and research activities.

As the central coordinating agency, TNPWC enables smoother communication, faster decision-making, and unified implementation of after-care services, livelihood assistance, psychological counselling, and post-release support. This nodal role strengthens inter-departmental collaboration, ensures continuity of services from incarceration to community reintegration, and supports evidence-based policymaking in corrections and rehabilitation.
